Manchester Ford Engine Specialist is an independent, family-run workshop in Oldham that works on one thing: Ford petrol and diesel engines. Between us we have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with Ford EcoBoost petrol and EcoBlue/TDCi diesel engines, and we have repaired over 2,400 engines. We set the workshop up because we kept seeing the same thing: drivers quoted five-figure engine replacements for problems that could be repaired, vans written off over a fault nobody had properly diagnosed, and owners sent away because a general garage could not get to the bottom of it. Doing one engine family every day is what changes that.

Why Ford-only specialism matters

Ford engines have their own well-known behaviour, and you only learn it by seeing it repeatedly. Wet belt degradation shedding debris into the oil and starving the oil pickup. Low oil pressure warnings that mean something very specific on a belt-in-oil engine. DPF pressure pipes that block and look exactly like a failed sensor. Turbo boost codes that turn out to be a split charge pipe. A generalist meets these occasionally; we meet them every week.

That has two practical effects for you. We reach the correct diagnosis faster, so you pay for less diagnostic time. And we know which repairs are worth doing on which engine, so we can tell you honestly when an engine is worth saving and when it is not.

Our workshop

We work from a fully equipped workshop at Alfred St, Oldham OL9 7AH, with dedicated bays for petrol and diesel work, hot-wash facilities, an in-house store of fast-moving Ford parts, and professional-grade diagnostic scanners with live data and module-level access. Engine work is done in-house — wet belt and timing jobs, cylinder head and head gasket work, engine rebuilds, turbo, DPF and AdBlue repairs, and full diagnostics.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to 2:00pm. Collection can be arranged on request — just ask when you book.

What our 12-month warranty covers

Every repair carries a 12-month parts and labour warranty, given in writing. That means both the components we supply and the work we did to fit them. If something we repaired is not right, you bring it back and we deal with it — that is the point of putting it in writing rather than saying "we stand behind our work" and leaving it there.

Pricing works the same way: you get a fixed written quote before anything starts, and if something else surfaces mid-job we stop, call you and explain it before continuing.

• Fleet operators — planned wet belt, DPF and servicing work scheduled around your quieter days.
